“Protect The Good Spirit And Atmosphere In Black Stars’ Camp” - MP

Mr. Asemanyi Kojo, Vice Chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee of Youth, Sports and Culture, has said the continuous discussion by the public on monetary issues of the Black Stars, will affect the good spirit and atmosphere in the camp, at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

“Over the years, we always give an idea of the budgetary allocations for competition. However, we need to exercise a bit of patience this time around since overconcentration on that would destabilize the good spirit and peace of mind of the team in camp.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa East said in an interview with GNA Sports at Ismailia, Egypt, that the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was operating within its annual budget and plans for the year, adding that at the appropriate time, the figures would be made public.

“As part of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture, we get the opportunity to see expenditure of the team, when it comes to competitions of this nature, however, we must all be a bit cautious in our demands for the budget because there are sponsorship considerations as well.

“We are not in any way encouraging anyone to overspend, but let us be cautious of how we go about monetary issues because 37 years without this AFCON Cup is a big worry to this nation.
