Animal Sacrifice Still An 'Albatross Around Black Stars' Neck' - Islamic Cleric Blasts 'Stubborn' Leaders

Islamic Cleric, Mallam Shamuna Uztaz Jibri has emphasized that the Black Stars of Ghana will still need to consult him to make some animal sacrifice if they want to win the Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] tournament in future.

He said leadership of the team have failed to consult him for the spiritual appeasement – this, he described as ‘disrespectful’.

“Those who are to see me for the sacrifice have turned deaf ears to spiritual issues,” he said in an interview with Peacefmonline.com.

Ghana has failed to win the prestigious tournament for the past 37 years despite coming close in the last 6 editions.

The last time the Black Stars lifted the trophy was way back in 1982 when the tournament was hosted in Libya.

As the West African Country continues to endure the drought, the soothsayer revealed during the group stages of this year's AFCON that the only way to break the longstanding jinx is to sacrifice 'one white female Camel, 19 rams, and a total of 66 Doves'.

No attempt was made by any management member of the national team to see to the performance of the spiritual directive. Subsequently, the Black Stars were knocked out of the on-going tournament by Tunisia last Monday to continue their ‘trophy curse’ since 1982; extending the drought now to 39 years.

“I am deeply sad that the team is coming home without the trophy. If they [Black Stars] really want to win either the World Cup or African cup, then the sacrifice [the Sadaka] is still hanging in the spiritual realm,” Mallam Shamuna Uztaz Jibri said.

“When do they [Black Stars] want to listen to spiritual advices for the benefit of the nation?” he questioned.

Shamuna Uztaz Jibri further said both England and The Netherlands face equally such a spiritual battle as Ghana.

“In the international front and in the field of sport most especially the World Cup, England and The Netherlands are suffering the same 'sickness' as Ghana's Black Stars,” he said.

He however explained spiritually the causes for this spiritual battle;

“1. Either a star of the team is doom which needs sacrifice to brighten it. 2. A spiritualist or a coach of the team was cheated somewhere along the line after toiling for the team. Or, It might be that the first captain of the team who led them to the finals and took the trophy, the star is single, this means that after him it will be very difficult for the team to pick a trophy because of his star. Unless otherwise it is detected that the captain is having that star and spiritual adjustment must be done before they can come out of the spiritual bondage,” he said.
