The National Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku has chided the main opposition party, the NDC to stop criticizing government interventions and suggest credible alternatives to government policies if they claim government policies are not of benefit to Ghanaians.

The affable Organizer urged opposition NDC to spill out their alternatives clearly - that is as to whether they will continue with the good interventions of the current administration such as or not (Free SHS, Nurses and Teacher Trainee Allowances).

…and stop castigating all government programs without suggesting any alternatives to the very policies they are condemning.

Contributing to a panel discussion of Peace FM’s Morning Show ‘Kokrokoo’ Mr. Awuku reiterated that Opposition must be credible with good alternatives.

“I keep saying that Opposition must be credible…what is your alternative…you said you will not restore the nurses and teacher Trainee allowance, but we have restored them…So what is your alternative - will you continue paying the allowance or you will cancel them when the opportunity is given to you by Ghanaians. If you will cancel them let Ghanaians know…if you will continue then it defeats the very statement you made ahead of 2016 election.

He further revealed that in spite of NPP’s major challenges faced them in the area of Free SHS, he is glad it has been fixed.

So the question again is, what are your alternatives,” he quizzed.
