The 2019 edition of the annual fashion and music event, Rhythms on Da Runway, promises a lot of surprises for fashion lovers.

The event will parade some of Africa’s most leading men’s wear and women’s wear designers who will be unveiling their latest collections and creations through a night of splendid fashion extravaganza.

In addition to the usual assortment of business casual wear, street wear, formal wear, ethnic fashion wear and classic tailoring, the collections are anticipated to come with rich innovation and style.

Among designers will be the legendary Mudi, who is not only celebrated across Africa but also dominated the fashion scene in the last 26 years.

Ophelia Crossland, Ghana’s answer to designs with a touch of Swarovski, will also be unveiling some amazing collections.

Ophelia’s brand is synonymous with elegance, sultry flair and extravagant drama and is one of the best on the African continent to watch out on the Rhythms runway.

Velma Accessories, the home of fashion accessories and fascinators in Africa, will also be showcasing. The rest of the designers include Palse from South Africa, Jesu Segun from England, Yartel, Nineteen57, Nallem Clothing and Steppapgh.

Rhythms On Da Runway, organised by KOD’s Nineteen57, is an annual fashion and music event which usually climaxes Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations.

The highlight of this year’s occasion is that it has coincided with the ‘Year of Return’ programme. That explains why organisers have decided to tag the event as the ‘Year of Return’ edition.

It is scheduled to take place at the Christiansburg Castle, Osu in Accra, on Saturday, August 31.

Nathaniel Attoh and Nana Aba Anamoah will steer affairs as hosts of the fashion night which will also be used to honour Asabea Cropper, music icon, for projecting and promoting Ghana’s rich Kente in the last 45 years.

There will also be music performances from Rex Omar, Pat Thomas, Stonebwoy, Kuami Eugene, Stephanie Benson, Steve Bedi, David Bolton and Obrafour.

Some top models from Africa and beyond will also be part of the runway event.
