"Enough Is Enough, Reinstate Ekow Ewusi Or Else,.... - NPP Members Warn Executives

Thousands of supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party in Cape Coast on Tuesday, hit the streets in their numbers over the suspension of the party's 1st Vice Central Regional Chairman Mr Horace Ekow Ewusi.

According to Peace FM Central Regional correspondent, Nana Sankah, the demonstrators who were from twenty-three (23) constituencies have given a 7-day ultimatum to the constituency and regional executives to ensure that Mr Ewusi is reinstated; failure to do that they will "storm the Flagstaff House".

"Enough is enough, we want him to be reinstated or else…we voted for him; he was duly elected so one person cannot just suspend him,” one of the leaders of the demonstration said.

This is the second time such a demonstration is being held over his suspension.

If you may recall, Ekow Ewusi was suspended by the Chairman after the Ist Vice refused to respond to a petition by one Edward Okraku Adum who accused him of engaging in criminal acts including drug peddling, escaping from prison in the UK as well as illegally auctioning seized excavators from mining sites.

Even though the claims have been rubbished by the embattled Vice Chairman, the regional chairman still went on to suspend him, the protestors claims.

The demonstrators further asserted that he has done nothing wrong to warrant such hatred against him by the regional chairman Robert Kutin and therefore must be stopped by the national executive from dividing the front of the party for his parochial interest.

Consequently, 14 out of the 23 constituency chairmen of the party have dissociated themselves from the suspension claiming the first Vice-Chairman is victimized by the regional Chairman Robert Kutin.

The concerned youth of the party are therefore calling on the National Executive body to call the Regional chairman Robert Kutin to order since his actions could spell doom for the party in the 2020 elections as they could have their 19 seats lost.

Attached is the petition submitted to leaders of the party.
