We'll Continue To Investigate PDS Deal Despite Minority’s Petition To US Gov't

Member of Parliament for Adentan Constituency and National Communications Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has disclosed that government will continue to investigate the PDS deal despite the minority’s petition to the United States(US) government.

According to him, they are committed to unraveling to the end the PDS deal and the alleged corrupt practices in the deal.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, he explained that the most important thing is that there is abundance of light in the country and that is what Ghanaians are happy about.

However, government will continue to investigate the deal to make sure that Ghanaians fully understand the PDS deal.

"NDC can even write to UN about the PDS deal but what I know for sure is that government has not done anything wrong with its decision to investigate it," he said.

"What the NDC do not understand is that the PDS deal was started by their very own John Dramani Mahama."

The Minority in Parliament has justified its decision to petition the US government to investigate the Power Distribution Services (PDS) concession debacle.

According to the Minority, the government is already ‘confused’ on how to deal decisively with the matter.

Ranking Member on Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the government’s poor handling and conflicting reports since the news broke showcases its inability to transparently bring closure to the matter.

The Minority petitioned the United States (US) Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie S. Sullivan, demanding full-scale investigations by the US government into the Power Distribution Services (PDS) concession debacle.
