We Are Disappointed In Nana Appiah Mensah – Coalition Of Menzgold Customers

The coalition of Menzgold customers has expressed their disappointment in the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah after his press conference on Monday.

According to them, they do not expect Nana Appiah Mensah to appeal to the President like they are also doing, but rather tell them how and when they were going to receive their monies.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' program, spokesperson for the coalition, Mr. Timothy Biriop noted that as a coalition, they have rather taken steps to engage government as to how they (customers) can have their monies paid to them.

He said if NAM 1 is doing the same thing then it looks like there is no hope in sight for them to receive their locked-up funds.

"What we are suggesting to the government and Nana Appiah Mensah is that a tripartite committee be formed for us to be able to look into the matter very well so that all bottlenecks would be unlocked for customers which 24 have already perished," he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah also known as NAM 1 has appealed to government to assist his company to retrieve debts owed them by Dubai-based Horizon Royal Diamond.

According to him, he is committed to paying his customers once he is able to retrieve the funds that were awarded him by the Dubai-based court.

“We at Menzgold are committed and do express our willingness to service our debts portfolios to our customers and business associates as soon as we can with a given opportunity.

“We respectfully pray the Ghanaian authorities to cooperate with us to achieve the following; to assist us to make full recovery of the amount owed Menzgold by Horizon Royal Diamond in Dubai.

"As an act of good faith, we are willing to engage the Attorney General’s office on the best possible way for them to aid Menzgold by employing international law and diplomatic relations to ensure we achieve this objective,” he told a news conference in Accra Monday.

He also noted he has confidence in the government of Ghana to help him retrieve the money from Dubai.
