The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) Foundation has commissioned and handed over a 3-unit JHS classroom block to Salankpan AME Zion school in Mion municipal, Northern Region.

The Executive Director of GNPC Foundation, Dominic Eduah, during a ceremony at the Salankp AME Zion School assured the people that revenues that the company generates from oil will be equitably distributed across the country.

According to him, the decision would not only help to accelerate development in communities where oil is discovered and utilized but also benefit the entire country.

The 3-unit facility which is furnished with desks and tables for both students and teachers is aimed at providing a rich and congenial environment to provide relief to the beneficiaries.

Dr. Eduah pointed out that the foundation would continue to support communities in need with basic amenities such as construction of boreholes, classroom blocks and other educational facilities as well as offer scholarships.

He urged the school to develop good maintenance culture to keep the facility in good shape for posterity.

He noted that the foundation had its focus on impacting lives by building facilities for the needy and pledged its commitment to contributing to nation building.

Headmaster of the school also thanked GNPC Foundation for the kind gesture.

“We are grateful to GNPC Foundation. We promise to take good care of this well equipped facility so it can serve generation unborn,” he said.
