Thousands Of Cars Burnt During Xenophobic Attack – Car Dealers Tear Up – Photos

Sunday’s xenophobic attack that extended through Monday has left several foreign shop owners heartbroken as they lost their shops and goods costing millions of cash.

According to reports, two car dealers who had their shops in Kaal and Jules streets lost over 50 cars during the attack.

Their cars were set in flames and got burnt to ashes.

One of the car dealers Kennedy Orji, a Nigerian, noted he lost more than 3 million Rand after 30 of his were burnt.

“I sell used cars and 30 cars that were my bread and hard-earned investment were burnt to ashes and I don’t know why,” he said.

“My heart broke as I helplessly watched everything perishing into flames. I’m lost for words and aggrieved because my own black brothers and sisters did this cruel deed to me.” he added.

Micky Jacobs who also lost some cars said; “All we want at this point is South Africa sanctioned, because until that is done these xenophobic and criminal attacks will proceed.”

“South Africans need to remember that during apartheid neighbouring countries fought with them, our fathers fought for them.

“We are Africans who are being chased out of our own African country because of unnecessary hate and unproven allegations.”
