Hair Senta International Beauty Show (HIBS)Africa 2019 Set For September 7th-8th

The Hair Senta International Beauty Show (HIBS) Africa 2019 promises to be the biggest beauty event in Ghana.

The official launch of HIBS Africa will be September 7th-8th (Saturday and Sunday) at the Accra International Conference Center and will include the event activities itself for all 2 days. Starting 11am -8:30pm daily.

The Vendor/Press Information session came off successfully on Friday at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra. The event gives both the press and stakeholders from the beauty industry in Ghana and other countries the opportunity to inquire about the fair as well as make inputs to the event. Gwyneth Gyimah Addo, Co – Founder of the Hair Senta International Beauty Show, said that the need for such an event was long overdue as uniting all the stakeholders of the beauty industry was the only way to ensure success, healthy competition and uniform progress of the beauty industry in Ghana. She added that though this was the maiden edition of the event, it would be a very prolific platform for both exhibitors and non – exhibitors as the event would not only bridge the gap between African beauty businesses and the world, but will also churn out a new generation that will be the change makers of the African and global beauty industry. HIBS Africa is scheduled to come off on the 7th and 8th of September 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Ghana.

Gwyneth Gyimah Addo, Co – Founder of HIBS Africa, explained the need for the Hair Senta International Beauty Fair as an exposure for existing businesses in the beauty industry in Ghana. “I realized that there are a lot of businesses in the beauty industry in Ghana that claim to be doing well but are still not visible enough. So this first show is purely a visibility strategy show. Even though a lot of us leverage on referrals from our clients, it is still not enough. Therefore, it is about time we move out of our comfort zone, get out there and show everyone what we are capable of”, she said.

Emphasizing the purpose of HIBS, Co – Founder of HIBS George Gyimah of Phamous Philms said, “The idea behind the maiden edition is to provide a visibility platform for all exhibitors. This will be done through live interactions with the audience and consistent brand mentions. In the end, we wish for African businesses to become globally competitive and minimize the gap with their foreign counterparts whiles simultaneously learning new skills in a fun filled environment with beauty professionals and potential investors.”

He added that HIBS was initiated to just to focus on present business matters of the beauty industry but also to lay the foundation for the future of the African beauty industry. “We seek to inspire an existing generation to challenge themselves and their businesses whiles building a new generation to be the change makers of the African and global beauty industry. Our vision at HIBS Africa is to bridge the global divide, make the African businesses in beauty to be globally competitive and successful. Our mission is to achieve this vision through the organization of annual multicultural beauty events across Africa”, he said.

There were a lot of solidarity messages from the stakeholders present including a representative from the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) in the person of Kofi Arhin the Director Operations at N.E.I.P. “The Ministry of Business Development and N.E.I.P are proud to be associated with this brand. We are in full support and whatever assistance that the Ministry of Business Development and the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan has to do to give backing to this idea that is hitting the whole of Africa and the world, we would be proud to give”, he stated.

He also assured the audience that N.E.I.P will help the HIBS Africa initiative to be sustainable and profitable. He further applauded the idea of HIBS Africa for its huge potential to employ many and to be able to expand into other countries. He said that this was the desire of the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo –Addo to see every entrepreneurial idea with the need to employ and not just remain as an entity.

Organizers anticipate over a thousand attendees who seek to deepen their knowledge in the hair and beauty industry and get acquainted with respected beauty brands and professionals from across Africa and overseas. The organizers showed their appreciation to the stakeholders for the support given them despite this being the very first edition. They cited an impressive 54 booked stands at HIBS Africa in September as an achievement and a motivation. The organizers stated the closing date for registration of vendors as 20th August 2019.

The Vendor/Press Information session also comprised an interactive panel discussion and questions and answers session with the audience with selected personnel from the media, logistics, and investment business. The event was conceived by both George Gyimah of Phamous Philms and Gwyneth Gyimah Addo of Hair Senta.
