Stop Accusing NDC And Admit Your Gov’t Is Plagued With Corruption – Felix Ofosu Kwakye To Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo does not want to admit his administration is bedeviled with corruption according to the former Deputy Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

The President while addressing the 2019 Conference of the Ghana Bar Association, in Takoradi, in the Western Region debunked claims that he is a ‘clearing agent’

If you may recall, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) tagged Akufo-Addo as a clearing agent because according to them when an appointee is allegedly caught in a corrupt act, he or she is cleared no matter the outcome of an investigation carried out.

However, President Akufo Addo says "It is not my job to clear or convict any person accused of wrongdoing, or of engaging in acts of corruption".

“it cannot be the case that people are condemned on the basis of mere allegations. That is the law of the jungle.”

He further indicated that the “orchestrated attempts by my opponents to hang the tag of corruption on the necks of my government and myself, despite all the manifest efforts being made to deal with the phenomenon of corruption, will not work. I did not come into public life to enrich myself”

However, reacting to this on Peace FM evening news, Felix Kwakye Ofosu said Akufo-Addo’s comment seems to mean he does not intend to do anything about the ‘increasing’ rate of corruption in his administration

“He didn’t say anything because he never accepted that there is corruption in his administration. He is rather accusing the NDC…meanwhile it is not only the NDC complaining about the increase of corruption in his administration. He doesn’t want to accept that there is an increase in corruption in his administration; neither does he intend to do anything about it” he indicated.
