Audio: Asiedu Nketia Chose To Address PDS Matter In A Comic Manner – John Boadu

General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has slammed the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the NDC’s statement on the Power Distribution Services (PDS) debacle.

According to John Boadu, the NDC’s press conference, addressed by its party General Secretary on the PDS saga, looked more comical because the matter is sensitive.

“The PDS fiasco is a serious matter but I don’t know why Asiedu Nketia chose the path of comedy in addressing it. Their press conference can best be described as concert party,” he said.

Mr Boadu was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen programme, Tuesday.

The opposition NDC alleged that the government flouted the the laws to allow PDS win the controversial concession agreement to manage assets of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, told a packed news conference that delays and negligence by the government offered PDS the opportunity to apply to amend some of the conditions required before the contract was awarded.

But, the NPP chief scribe opined that the NDC should be the last political party to run commentary on the issue.

“Is the NDC telling us no member of the NPP can buy a stake in any property up for sale? What are they talking about? He quizzed.

He said the Akufo-Addo government should rather be commended for giving 51 percent of the ECG concession to a consortium called PDS which is solely Ghanaian-owned.
