There Is Contest At Klorttey Korley...

The National Parliamentary Appeal Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Thursday, September 12, 2019 gave its consent to the Member of Parliament aspirant for Klottey Korley constituency, Henry Harod Kwartei Quartey, to contest the "orphan constituencies" primaries scheduled for September 28.

It will be recalled that the New Patriotic Party released a list of Parliamentary aspirants on Thursday, August 22, 2019 but Mr. Quartey was missing among the candidates.

His supporters petitioned the National Parliamentary Appeals Committee (NPAC) to qualify their candidate for the Parliamentary race.

The NPAC has accepted the petition and hence given Mr. Quartey the green light to contest.

The supporters further accused Lawyer Prince Appiah Debrah who was chosen in the stead of Mr. Quartey as Parliamentary aspirant for constituency of masterminding their candidate’s disqualification.

But  the camp of Lawyer Appiah Debrah has denied the accusations and asked the general public to disregard them.

Lawyer Prince Appiah Debrah was the sole aspirant who was qualified at the first instance.

Mr. George Mintah, Campaign team member for Lawyer Prince Debrah, in an interview with Peacefmonline.com stated emphatically  that “Prince Deborah has always been a man of peace and that all his life, he has never run away from any contest; so there is no way he could have done anything for him to go unopposed. There is division in KKC and we all are striving for peace to reign in the constituency - so there is no way we can do that”.

“The party needs unity, love and peace to win the seat in 2020…If we have unity, love and we work hard; I know victory will be ours…As for us, we are very happy that the Appeal Committee has reinstated him and we welcome him back to the contest", he said.

He urged all party supporters to desist from making unwarranted utterances stressing “there is a bigger contest ahead to strive for and win in 2020”.
