The Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers of Ghana Gas Company and three other state owned companies have been praised for transforming the state agencies.

They have been adjuged as the best performing Managing Directors of state institutions in Ghana for massive transformation since assuming leadership positions in their respective positions.

Dr. Ben Asante, CEO of Ghana Gas Company; Nana Akomea, State Transport Corporation(STC), David Asante, Ghana Publishing Company, and Maxwell Kofi Jumah GIHOC Distilleries all received a standing ovation.

The four, at a seminar organised for all Board Chairmen, Chief Executive Officers and Director Generals of State-owned institutions by the State Interest and Governance Authority (SIGA) in the Central Region were made to present their success stories to the nearly 200 persons gathered.

Ghana Gas incredible story is all about indigenization, thus giving total control of the Gas processing plant from Synopec Engineers to Ghanaian Engineers early 2017.

Ghana Gas did it effortlessly while it took other giant Gas companies several years to indigenize.

Also, under the leadership of Dr. Ben Asante, Ghana Gas has progressed significantly including; making profit of over $60million, Clean balance sheet from bad to clean books and are also ready to pay a dividend of Ghc 20 million credits to government.

However, they bought an ultra modern Head office in Accra and built their own state-of-the-art Operational Office Complex at Alla-Bokazo.

The office complex is expected to deliver first-class gas operations and support services for the country’s gas sector, while, at the same time, accommodating the women and men of the company who work to ensure reliable and sustainable gas supply for power generation.

Speaking with Peacefmonline.com, Head of Coporate Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah highlighted the two major tie ins, Sanzule tie which increased gas production from 90mmscalf to 350mmscalf and also the completion of the reverse flow.

"We have done a comprehensive company rebranded news website, documentary, souvenir, new company image up to the international level.

"There has also been massive Coporate Social Responsibilties across the country and many Social interventionss in rural communities in the Western Region and other parts," he said.

The staff strength has also been increased from 150 to about 700, thereby creating massive employment for Ghanaians, with an increase in staff salaries of about 85%.

The retreat was organised to among other things brief CEOs and the relevant stakeholders on the passage of the SIGA Act and its implications on the performance of specified entities.

The States Interests and Governance Interest (SIGA) was created to replace the States Enterprises Commission to make the institution more relevant to the demands of the country and improve its effectiveness in supervising all State-Owned Enterprises.

Ernest Owusu Bempah commended the CEO, the board and the entire Ghana Gas team for their hard work and dedication.

"We hope to achieve greater heigths in the coming years ahead," he added.
