Vice President of Ghana, H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on Saturday, September 14, 2019 joined the people of Akuapim Mampong to celebrate their Ohum festival.

The Vice President was in the company of NPP National Organizer, Sammi Awuku, as they graced the occasion.

Dr. Bawumia and the NPP industrious National Organizer were commended, during the festival, for exhibiting an exemplary leadership when they defied a heavy downpour to be part of this year’s Akwapim Mampong Ohum festival.

In remarkable photos, the Vice President and the NPP National Organizer are seen walking in the rains to mark the festival with the celebrants.

Addressing the people of Akwapim Mampong, Dr. Bawumia reiterated President Akufo-Addo's commitment to sustaining the free SHS programme and further promised to create more jobs for the youth.

He also entreated the Chiefs to work together with the local administrative authorities to rekindle the spirit of communal labour in helping to get rid of filth in the nation.

Ohum festival is celebrated by the Chiefs and people of Akwapim Mampong.

They displayed their rich Ghanaian culture and tradition at the function which was the cynosure of all eyes.
