Yemeni Crime Suspects In Custody, Face Deportation

Hardened Yemeni crime suspects have been arrested by the Police and in the grips of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

Numbering five, the suspects were picked after a Court hearing at the Kwabenya Circuit Court yesterday.

They are Omar Mohamed Khalil, who uses two passports – (Mali and Niger), Ali Ghazi Mohammed (Yemen), Jamal Solimen Ghazi Ibrahem (Yemen) Ebrahim Omar Ali Ghazi (Yemen) and Amena Yousef Esmail (Yemen).

Thereafter, they were marched to the GIS head office in Accra for interrogation and indications were that they would be deported for various alleged criminal acts.

Our checks from GIS indicates that, after a marathon interrogation session on Tuesday, the suspects were further probed on Wednesday to authenticate their alleged crimes.

Two of the arrested alleged criminals-Kaothar Almohamad and Al-Radae Khaled Mohammed Ghazi are currently on the run.

The suspects with multiple passports are embroiled in terrorists, rape and other scam activities; using Ghana as a decoy in their operations- many of which have resulted in duping expatriates with fake American dollars.

Their ring leader Mohammed Ould Ibrahim, popularly referred to as Omar has allegedly committed various degrees of criminal acts including the infamous rape of a minor last year.

As a result, Omar, believed to be hiding in Mali or Cote d’Ivoire has been declared wanted by Interpol.

It came up after their arrest yesterday that, some members of their group marched to the rape victim’s house to fire gun shots in protest of the arrest.
