Offinsomanhene Honors Desmond Appiah For His Immerse Contribution Towards Development (PHOTOS)

The Omanhene of Offinso Traditional area, Nana Wiafe Akeneten III has honored a native of Offinso, Desmond C. Appiah for his immerse contribution towards development in the area.

During the commissioning of the ultra modern library, the Omanhene of Offinso, Nana Wiafe Akeneten III honored Mr. Desmond C. Appiah and Mr. Isaac Owusu of Isaac Bookshop for their contributions towards development in the Offinso Municipality and expressed gratitude for such a project since it will aid children to have access to books to pursue their academic works whiles Mr Owusu also donated textbooks to stock the library.

According to the Omanhene, Desmond C. Appiah has been very consistent in bringing development to the good people of Offinso.

"Over the years, a library which was built by the Traditional Authorities of Offinso was left unattended but has been attended to by the help of Mr. Appiah."

“ A Pillar of Development for his understanding of the challenges of development, especially in Offinso recently took that project up for renovation and in the early hours of Friday 20th September, 2019 the library was commissioned for the use of the good people of Offinso,” he said.

Mr. Appiah as part of the renovations and refurbishment donated and installed Twenty (20) Computers with Electronic Learning (E-Learning) software to help students and patrons to be able to read online…”the Aster Software would enable patrons to study history, geography, sciences, mathematics, languages, and many more.”

To sustain continued use of the library and interest in reading by the citizens of Offinso, Mr. Appiah announced a joint initiative with Miss Mmoaninko 2018, Miss Margaret Osei Poku to introduce a reading competition amongst the schools with juicy awards for schools and individual students who excel.

Mr. Appiah also supported Miss Mmoaninko 2018 with Two Thousand Five Hundred (2,500) exercise books to support her community empowerment project.

The program was held at the forecourt of Offinsoman Palace and was attended by the local government officials, The MCE, the Member of Parliament, political actors, Municipal Director of Education, students, pupils and community members.
