Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah Holds Breakfast Meeting With Clergy In Adentan Municipality (PHOTOS)

Member of Parliament of Adentan, Hon. Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has met with religious leaders in his constituency to seek their prayers and support.

The meeting dubbed "Spiritual guidance, effective leadership” was held at Victory Presbyterian church, Frafraha Adentan on Monday, September 23, 2019.

The MP used the opportunity to thank the Clergy and also recount his achievements since elected as Parliamentary representative for the constituency.

Delivering a speech, he asked them to rally behind him stating that "leadership is broad and that one person cannot handle it alone neither will secular leadership alone succeed, therefore there is no default or shame in recognizing good secular policies that give fair access, opportunities and hope to your flock, because the common object of the different leaderships is to make life better".

“Friends in the humble service of the Lord, when you prayed for me and successfully sent me into secular leadership, we promised you socially inclusive and economically viable policies in a transparent and countable environment. By the Grace of the Almighty, I believe we are on course to a large extent,” he added.

He also recounted some remarkable benchmarks by the Akufo-Addo led government saying "we have diversification of our productive base on course with the roll-out of 1D1F and Planning for Food and Jobs…We have restored discipline in the financial services sector and I urge you and your flock to have confidence as the financial sector reforms work to protect your deposits.

“Work with e-applications will transform lives. Work with relevant institutions will enhance the fight against corruption. Work with political parties and the security agencies will reduce violence in electoral politics. Significantly, ongoing work to amend the 1992 constitution and give power to you to elect your local leadership will empower you to have a say in local development priorities, allow open participation in the workings and growth of local parties and reduce the political temperature between elections as all parties get involved in governance."

He urged the Clergy to announce the good works of the current administration.

“Let us realize that only Ghanaians can build the Ghana that we all want…Let us pray for the realization of that Ghana flowing with hard-earned milk and honey. May this day of prayer enhance our partnership for development and, in the name of Almighty God, bless our people to pick up the sword of Ghana and fight for dignity in development", he stressed.

The clergy in return expressed their gratitude to Mr. Buabeng Asamoah and assured him of their unflinching support.
