The Ashanti regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, has promised to put his life on the line and deal viciously with members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if their new strategy is to continuously attack the Asantehene.

According to Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako eversince the Ashanti overlord came out to boldly state that he had to personally convince former President Mahama to handover power to President Akufo-Addo after he had lost the 2016 elections, some members of the NDC have made it their daily ritual to hurl insults on the revered King.

Just recently, the Asantehene claimed in an address abroad that his palace had to convince the former President to hand over power to President Akufo-Addo. 

“At the conclusion of the last presidential and parliamentary elections, the country [Ghana] stood on the edge of disaster. The UN representatives and the diplomatic community were aghast, alarmed that Ghana was going to slip down the slope of electoral violence. 

“Fortunately, the moral authority of the palace was at hand. We were able to intervene to persuade the losing candidate to accept his fate and fly both candidates for a quiet encounter to pave the way for a handover,” said the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II claimed.

Shortly after the address, a statement attributed to Mr. Julius Debrah came out noting that former President Mahama handed overpower out of his commitment to the rule of law and democracy. 

A portion of the statement read “I state without equivocation that the decision to concede and congratulate Nana Akufo-Addo even before the official results were declared was taken by President Mahama himself without any persuasion from any quarter."

Chairman Wontumi however alleged that the National Chairman of the NDC together with "some disrespectful" members of his party were in the UK recently to tarnish the image of Otumfuo.

But as a recognized son of the land, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi vowed to deal ruthlessly with former President Mahama and Mr. Ofosu Ampofo- noting that they are the individuals behind NDC members insulting Otumfuo.

"That 'tsofi' mouth of Ofosu Ampofo must be tamed immediately. He has been spewing alot of rubbish from that dirty hole he has been hiding in. He is the number one coward in the world yet he always opens that 'tsofi' mouth of his simply to create anarchy. He has been behind the spate of kidnapping in Ghana recently and he claims to be an Elder of the Church of Pentecost. It is a pity", Chairman Wontumi said.
