I’ll Fix Kumasi Roads – Nana

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said all is set for the rehabilitation of deplorable roads in Kumasi and other parts of the Ashanti Region.

According to him, he was aware that the residents of Kumasi were not pleased with the terrible road networks in the city and were eager to see the roads constructed.

The President, who gave a brief address, stated that he would make sure all the bad roads were given a facelift to help in the movement of people and goods.

Speaking on Wednesday at a mini durbar at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on his first day of a three-day tour of the region, the President said he had not forgotten about Kumasi.

“I know where I got my power from and I will not disappoint you. I will make sure all the Kumasi roads are fixed very soon,” the President assured the Asantehene.

According to him, all the necessary steps had been taken for works to commence on the poor road networks in Kumasi so the people should be a bit patient.

Meeting With Zongo Chiefs

Earlier, in an address to Zongo chiefs at Aboabo, the President said “it is action time, as everything is set for works to begin on the bad roads in Kumasi soon.”

He said he has good plans for the people of Kumasi and for that matter Asanteman, disclosing that there were numerous projects in the pipeline for the Ashanti Region.

Otumfuo’s Address

In his address, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II said he knew that the President had good intentions for Asanteman.

“We have talked at length in secret and I know your positive plans to transform Kumasi and Asanteman so I will not bore you with a lengthy speech,” he said.

He lauded the President for his good works for the country so far, adding that the President was on the right track to develop the country. He particularly commended the President for leaving the comfort of his office to tour the country to know the challenges facing the people so he could address them.

“Your decision to tour Ghana and inspect projects and know how the people are feeling is a good thing and I will urge you to sustain it,” the Asante King stressed.

The Otumfuo, therefore, said he would continue to support President Akufo-Addo with prayers and wise counsel to help fulfill his good intentions for Ghana.

Accompanying the President were Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Simon Osei-Mensah, Amoako Atta, Dr. Akoto Osei, Kan Dapaah, Osei Assibey-Antwi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and other top officials.
