Women In Worship Gives To Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

Genet Services, organisers of 2019 Women in Worship concert, donated some items and a cash amount to the Cervical Cancer Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, aka Chenard.

This is part of the organisation’s Akatasia Campaign which focuses on creating awareness, sensitizing and offering free cervical cancer screening for all women across the length and breadth of Ghana.

The donation on Wednesday was from funds generated from the organisation’s worship event held in September.

Organisers, led by Mrs Georgina Nettey, donated surgical items, BP apparatus, detergents, wheelchairs, hospital screens, kettles and a cash amount to the unit.

The cash donation was to offset bills of admitted female patients living with cervical cancer at the Chenard Unit.

Mrs Georgina Nettey expressed the need for the constant sensitization and awareness of the cancer, which she said was killing women in our society.

“As an organisation, we hope to reach thousands of people with our Akatasia Campaign,” she indicated.

“Our able team is set to visit various Senior High Schools and Tertiary Institutions to educate females on the causes of the cancer and I want to use this opportunity to call on the First and Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana, corporate bodies and pharmaceutical companies in Ghana, to join hands with us, as we fight against cervical cancer,” she added.
