PDS Scandal: Ghanaians Will Be In The Depths Of Despair Should NPP Fail - Obiri Boahen

Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen says the depths of despair that will engulf the nation will be indescribable should the ruling party fail to lead the country to the promised land.

According to him, considering the hope that Ghanaians have in the ruling NPP to better the lives of the citizens, they must do whatever they can to obliterate any obstacle to achieving their set goals.

I have been saying that if NPP as a party fails Ghana, the country will not have any hope again...I am happy to be a member of the NPP and anything which will be an obstacle, bad omen or curse to the NPP, some of else are ready to fight those hindrances”, he cautioned.

He reiterated that “many people know that if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not able to lead Ghana to the promised land, it will be quite unfortunate”.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Nana Obiri Boahen said the Akufo-Addo led NPP government should be commended for the suspension and the subsequent intent to cancel the deal with PDS after the Energy Minister has declared the deal as fraudulent.

NDC Christened "Press Conference Party"

He, however, turned his arsenal on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) describing the opposition party as nothing more than a "press conference party".

...I also think that those in NDC don’t listen to advice because if they had taken their time to wait for the explanation from the Finance Minister and the MCC, they would not have called for the press conference; the NDC is now a press conference party," he asserted.

"Biggest Corruption Scandal" Ever

General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah on Monday told journalists that the PDS deal is the “biggest corruption scandal” in the history of Ghana, and that the opposition party will demand probity and accountability from the Akufo-Addo government.

According to him, the PDS “mess” was deliberately created by the government in order to take over the GH¢22 billion assets of ECG.

Diligent as the NDC is, we had caught President Akufo-Addo pants down, the same way we caught him in the 12 million dollars Oslo Chancery deal, the bloated 800,000 website deal and the attempt to swindle Ghanaians of 800 million dollars in the Ameri Novation deal,” he indicted the ruling party.
