Pregnant Women Should Listen To Choral Music - Joyce Aryee

Light Ministries, a Christian Organization that aims at motivating and encouraging people through the word of God and music, has advised pregnant women to develop the habit of listening to choral music. She said choral music, because of its soothing nature; prepare the unborn child to enter the world with a calm spirit, pointing out that music in general heals the soul. Ms Aryee said this in an interview with the GNA on the upcoming choral music concert, being organized by the Salt and Light Ministries. The Choral Music Concert scheduled for Friday, 12 March at the National Theatre, will feature one of Ghana's finest composers of choral and classical music, the Reverend Newlove Annan. She said good music was a useful tool for development, adding that: "I wish all Ghanaians will see choral music as a good development tool. Choral Music provides people with a sense of well-being." She invited members of the public to patronize the event, which would be free. Ms Aryee said Ghana as a country was blessed with a lot of choral musicians mentioning Ephraim Amu and Saka Acquaye, both of blessed memory , and said there was a need to promote such musicians on the international front. Ms Aryee said the upcoming concert, dubbed: "An Evening with Newlove Annan," would be a spectacular event. Rev. Newlove Annan is a versatile musician, who has about 975 tunes to his credit. Many of his songs are performed nationwide by various choral groups including the Winneba Youth choir. Other choirs performing on the night are the Harmonious Chorale and the Methodist Evangel Choir.
