Large-Size Akufo-Addo Gov’t Can Never Make Sense – Kwakye Ofosu

Former Deputy Communication Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has taken a swipe at the Akufo-Addo administration for yet another defense of its elephant sized government disputing that President Akufo-Addo can maximize any gains with the highest number of Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Tuesday made a strong case for its ambitious policies and its large-sized government.

It comes in the wake of the recent call by the Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) of the University of Ghana which urged government to review some of its expenditures in the face of a shortfall in domestic revenue.

Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide noted in a reaction that the Nana Akufo-Addo government is committed to improving the country’s socio-economic development of the nation with the supervision of key gatekeepers.

In a tweet to respond to the government’s defense, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu maintained that “the size of this government can never make sense. Certainly not in the face of their mediocre output.”

He re-echoed “President Mahama has said that at least 40 Ministers and Deputies won’t be there if he was President.”
