Odi Ahenkan Commissions Ultramodern ICT Center For Akyem Aboabo

Accra based Peace FM's Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah on the 1st of November, 2019 commissioned and handed over an ultramodern Information Communication Technology [ICT] center for the people of Akyem Aboabo in the Birim Central Municipal of the Eastern region - Ghana.

Odi Ahenkan in collaboration with Maxim Nyansa IT solutions, an organization that create career perspective for young people in Africa, using IT by offering practical training for graduates in IT who have limited opportunities finding a job because of their social background and also employing some of these trainees themselves, as consultants for IT projects for schools and in their software department, built the ICT center for the people of Akyem Aboabo [his hometown].

As part of the 75th anniversary of Akyem Aboabo Presbyterian Primary and Junior High School held at Akyem Aboabo durbar ground with a colourful culture display by the school children, the radio news anchor together with the officials from Maxim Nyansa IT solutions used the opportunity to commission and hand over the ultramodern ICT center which has a modern projector, twenty [20] computers and other needed equipments installed in it to the leaders of Akyem Aboabo Presbyterian church to make it available for everyone in the community.

In an interview with the rightsourceonline.com, Odi Ahenkan divulged that his motive for bringing an ICT center to Akyem Aboabo is to inculcate the knowledge of Information Technology into the pupils, students and everyone in the community who has the passion of upgrading his/her ICT knowledge to meet the world's standard.

He added that, on realizing that the ICT teachers in the various schools of Aboabo community were only teaching the theological aspect of ICT without practical demonstration to the pupils/students, he made it his major priority to provide an ICT center where teachers and pupils would have access to computers in order to understand and broaden the knowledge they have acquired in Information Technology.

The Akyem Aboabo Kontihene, Nana Adomako Ankomah who was the Chairman of the occasion shared his profound gratitude to Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah for having the progress of his community at heart and also thanked the officials of Maxim Nyansa IT Solutions for supporting Odi Ahenkan to make his dream a reality.

Nana Adomako Ankomah pledged to ensure that the facility would be well monitored in order to attract more developmental projects into his community as "Oliver Twist" would always do.

The leader of the Akyem Aboabo Jeremiah Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Pastor Benjamin Ofosu Ashong on receiving the keys to the facility pledged to see to it that it would be well maintained in order to expand it lasting period to benefit more children in the generations to come.
