NPP Has No Alternative – Regional Minister

Madam Tangoba Abayege, Upper East Regional Minister, says the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has no substitute, and challenged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to come out with a clear cut message for the 2020 elections.

“NPP doesn’t have an alternative, we want the best for this country, and the best for this country is the New Patriotic Party,” she added.

According to Madam Abayege, who was addressing the Regional Conference of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP in Bolgatanga, Ghanaians would vote for the NPP based on “pragmatic, visionary and innovative policies.”

The Conference brought together TESCON members from the Bolgatanga Polytechnic, the Saint John Bosco College of Education, University for Development Studies (UDS) and the Bolgatanga, Zuarungu and Bawku Nurses and Midwifery Training Colleges among others.

It was on the theme, “Revamping, vitalizing and repositioning TESCON our field machinery for victory 2020: TESCON beyond campus.”

Madam Abayege said TESCON played a critical role in the Party, as their commitment and hard work towards the cause of the party contributed to the success of the NPP in the 2016 election, and called on them to continue to support the NPP to win the 2020 election.

Mr Henry Nana Boakye, National Youth Organizer of the NPP, urged the students not to take their affiliation to TESCON for granted and said TESCON was a strategic partner to Victory 2020.

He said TESCON was growing so fast in strength and influence, and disclosed that TESCON was fully functional and operational in 210 institutions nationwide, while units in some schools were yet to be inaugurated, “Our prediction at the national youth wing is that we will be having some 250 fully operational TESCON institutions.”

Mr Boakye said TESCON was part of the decision making body of the NPP, and noted that about 90 per cent of young appointees in the NPP government were products of TESCON, and further called on them to conduct research and design programmes and plans on how the NPP could win the 2020 elections in constituencies on their campuses.

The National Youth Organizer later presented 12 motorbikes to orphan constituency executives in the Region, and two to the Regional executives.
