Patriotic Gents Group, a wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) organized its maiden health screening for Peasant farmers at Akorabo and its neighboring communities in the Eastern Region over the weekend.

The farmers were screened by selected medical experts for diabetes, malaria, typhoid among other health conditions during the one-day programme.

The group's act was geared towards supporting the underprivileged and deprived people in the community to receive proper medical care as well as to serve as their corporate social responsibility to residents in the community.

They pledged their persistent support in engaging in similar healthcare programmes and also called on the government to improve the NHIS to make it affordable for underprivileged Ghanaians.

The group further advised the authorities to intensify public health education within the communities.

The Patriotic Gent Group also interacted with the peasant farmers and encouraged them to utilize the government's social intervention programmes like the Planting for Food and Jobs, Free SHS and the National Health insurance Scheme among others.

The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the group and Member of Parliament for Suhum, Hon. Opare Ansah, for their kind gesture.

The Patriotic Gents Health Train is one of the several initiatives by the Patriotic Gents Humanitarian Group, a wing of the NPP Party comprising enterprising young men who believe in touching lives of the underprivileged and the needy.
