KITEKO Ghana Wins Hauler of the Year Award

The maiden Ghana Cocoa Awards (GCA) night to recognize stakeholders in the cocoa industry value chain was held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra last Friday.

Various companies involved in the hauling, processing, promotion and manufacturing of cocoa products among other initiatives were recognized on the night with plaques resembling a cocoa pod.

Ecom Ghana, a leading global commodity merchant and sustainable supply chain Management Company once again made a statement after its logistics subsidiary, KITEKO Ghana Limited was adjudged the Best Hauler of the Year.

The latest feat comes on the back of the outstanding performance by the company at the 18th edition of the Ghana Club 100 awards when Ecom picked three awards.

The company’s subsidiary, Agro-Ecom Ghana Limited, was ranked the 10th Best Company in Ghana as well as the best new entrant into Ghana Club 100 while KITEKO Ghana Limited was adjudged the 26th best company in Ghana.

The Cocoa Awards, the first of its kind is set to become an annual affair in view of the fact that cocoa has been the backbone of the Ghanaian economy for decades.

The sector not only offers direct and indirect employment to millions of Ghanaians; it is also a key player in the education
sector with the Cocobod Scholarships that have seen many young Ghanaians through secondary school.

The GCA is recognition of heroes of the cocoa industry and an expression of intent to promote patronage of made in Ghana cocoa products.
