GPHA Justifies Impending 11% Increment In Port Tariff
The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority [GHPA] has maintained that the increment of port tariff is long overdue to cater for inflation, increases in fuel prices, electricity and other resources used by the port and terminals to provide services.
The Importers and Exporters Association is already kicking against a scheduled 11 per cent tariff increment for cargo handling at the Terminal Three of the Tema Port, arguing that the increment which is scheduled to take effect next month would be an additional cost to their operations.
But speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, the General Manager of GPHA, Madam Esther Gyebi noted that all parties have been given reasons why the increment was needed.
