Exercise Your Franchise On December 17 — Most Rev. Kwofie

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. John Bonaventure Kwofie, has urged christians to exercise their vote in the upcoming referendum.

“Voting is mandatory for all because it helps in nation building,” he said, adding that “as a nation, the main way of expressing our opinion is through voting, so come out and let’s build the future of our country together on 17th December.”

Most Rev. Kwofie made the call at the climax of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Kwashieman, on Sunday, November 24, 2019.

Speaking on the theme: “Building our Faith in the Spirit of Peace”, Most Rev Kwofie encouraged the congregation to exude peace even as they went about their daily routine as citizens of Ghana because Christianity was all about maintaining peace.

“You must be peace makers, peace keepers and peace emulators even as the name of your parish says,” he said.

A new Life

He entreated the Parishioners to accept the new phase in their life as a church as they celebrated 30 years of the goodness of God and strive to do more, stressing that in times of difficulties they should look up to God.

The archbishop urged Christians to embrace challenges and create new opportunities to build up the church together as a family.“There are so many things we can take advantage of in these times to build ourselves,” he said, stating the Internet and telephone as examples of powerful tools that they could capitalise on to learn new things.

30 Years

The Parish Priest of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Very Rev. Father Edmund Donkor-Baine, urged his parishioners to look forward to innovations and renovations in the parish.

“The archbishop has given us a mandate to do more and that is what we will stand by to venture into new projects even as a Parish,” he stated.
