ACTs Meets School Leaders, Parents And Major Organizations

The Education Assessment Specialist Company, ACT Inc, held a briefing for school leaders, parents and major organizations at the Accra City Hotel on the 5th December 2019. This workshop was hosted by a top-level delegation from ACT Inc., on the side-lines of the Innovation Africa Summit 2019.

It was an opportunity to discuss the university readiness of students and to explore solutions to ensure students’ success in STEM and allied fields, which will allow them to take full advantage of the digitization of the world now.


The ACT is a non-profit organization that administers the ACT test; the United States of America’s most trusted college admissions standardized test provider for over 60 years. ​ It also offers many other educational products.

The workshop facilitator, Ms Erica Hepburn, discussed opportunities to roll out cohorts in schools starting from January 2020. This, she said will allow schools to determine and increase their students STEM capacity from as early as JHS through to SHS 2. She called on schools, both private and public to take advantage of this educational tool to boost their students’ success in further education.

Speaking to the press, Mr Oko Nerquaye-Tetteh, whose organization Efford Consult represents the ACT in Ghana, said the briefing was timely was it served to introduce the many beneficial Educational Products ACT have to offer, adding that they are already in discussions to roll out pilots of some of their programmes. They are also working with some universities to introduce world class university entrance exams.

The event was attended by government officials, CSR officials from the major Telecom companies, oil companies and banks as well as principals, Headmasters/mistresses and school counsellors.
