Menzgold Customers Mass Up At Police Headquarters

The police have cautioned aggrieved customers of gold dealership firm, Menzgold, to refrain from making comments on the default case which is before the court.

The police yesterday questioned and cautioned two customers of the gold dealership company for making complaints on the issue in public and on radio.

The invitation by the police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday attracted scores of the customers to the precincts of the Police Headquarters in Accra.

Although the police declined to speak to the Daily Graphic, Nana Akisi, one of the customers, who was interrogated after several hours at the Financial Forensics Unit (FFU) of the Ghana Police, told the Daily Graphic that he was cautioned to be circumspect with his choice of words in public, as that could lead to a contempt of court.

Relentless

Meanwhile, Nana Akisi indicated that the group would not relent in its efforts to pursue the locked up funds until each customer was fully paid what was due him/her.

He said the group intended to petition the Attorney General for a committee to be constituted to resolve the issue as in the case of universal banks and other microfinance institutions which saw government intervention.

“No payment has been made to any of us here,” he stated.

Another customer, who gave his name as Kulture B, said he was also invited over a voice note he shared with members on the group’s virtual platform.

Some of the aggrieved customers the Daily Graphic spoke to, including Mr Timothy Binob, confirmed that they had not received any payments after the validation exercise.

Mr Binob stressed the group’s intention to pursue the locked-up funds by all legal means to get their funds released.

“We are not going to stop pursuing this case as long as Nam 1 is in this country, whatever means we will use within the confines of the law to get him pay us, we will,” he added
