Ayekoo & Akwaaba....Odi Ahenkan Is The New Host Of Peace FM's Ekwanso Brebre!

Versatile radio personality and popular Akan news caster popularly known as Odi Ahenkan Kwame Yeboah has been handed the baton to host the Drive Time show dubbed ‘Ekwan So Brebre’, on PEACE FM 104.3.

He takes over the programme from Micky Darling who has been a smooth host with thrilling contents over the years.

Odi’s programmes on radio - ‘The After Church Show’, ‘Extended Drive Monday’ and his controversial role on Ekwanso Brebre with Afia Adutumwaa as his ‘radio wife’ attracts a large number of listenership in Ghana and some parts of the world, just because of the way he handles the programmes.

Over the years, the young broadcaster has carved a niche for himself due to his right composure, attitude and his ability to have a great impact on his audiences.

Despite the fact that a number of radio listeners see him as a good and admiring radio personality, he is also a great collector of music, he blends the old time tunes also known as ‘Adadamu’ with the recent Hip-Life genre with good interactions, leaving the listener to feel part of his shows.

Odi’s commitment to educating people through radio, promoting Ghanaian tourism and arts on his programmes coupled with his great sense of humor and professionalism in emceeing shows, made him very popular among radio listeners.

Born in Akyem Aboabo in the 80s, Odi has been on radio in Akyem Oda and Kumasi before joining the Despite Media in 2006 as a news reader.

Through hard work and determination, he won the heart of the Management of the Despite Media, under the able leadership of Dr Fadda Dickson who gave him the opportunity to host programmes like ‘The After Church Show’, ‘The Extended Drive’ and a husband character on Ekwanso Brebre with then host, Mr Fiifi Banson and immediate past host Micky Darling.

Odi has also been a sit-in-host for several programmes on Peace FM and sister station OKAY FM 101.7.

He is married with three children - a boy and two beautiful girls.

"Ekwanso brebre", the late afternoon show, airs between 4pm and 6pm. The programme, which fuses lifestyle, sports and social talk show, runs from Monday through to Friday.
