NPP Primaries: I Begged Asenso-Boakye Severally Not To Contest Me - Bantama MP Discloses

NPP Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency in the Ashanti region, Daniel Okyem Aboagye, said he has pleaded severally with the Deputy Chief of Staff, Francis Asenso-Boakye to rescind his decision to contest him in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

“I have begged him three [3] times not to contest me but he has refused,” he said.

The incumbent MP who is unsure of his position ahead of the party's primaries told the media that all efforts to let Mr Asenso-Boakye overturn his decision has hit the rock despite his hard work in the constituency.

“I begged him through the Chief of Staff and the Bantamahene but he has picked and filed his forms already,” the worried MP told the media when he filed his nomination at the constituency office on Friday, 14th February 2020.

According to him, Mr Asenso-Boakye should rather concentrate on his current position as Deputy Chief of Staff to help the party win the December 7 polls.

He called on delegates to reject Mr. Asenso-Boakye and vote massively for him to continue the developmental work he has started.
