International Assessment Program For Private Schools (PRE-ACT) Launched

Ghana National Council of Private Schools [GNACOPS] in collaboration with effort educational consult has launched a PreAct system to create a stronger start international assessment that will monitor student’s growth and progress records towards university and career readiness.

The PreAct is designed to help individuals around the world achieve college and career eagerness as well as provide parents and their wards with correct information to select the right high school courses.

This International Assessment Program for Private Schools (PRE-ACT) is a new international assessment program for Private Schools in Ghana for grades 8, 9, and 10 , which involves multiple choice questions in English, reading, Math’s and Science that open doors at all levels of education.

As part GNACOPS’ efforts to implement effective strategies to help private education meet global standards, this internationally recognised assessment will be organised for all Private Schools through the support of P2S Company Limited.

The assessment seeks to assess learners on core competencies, values, attitudes, as well as guiding students in their career path.

According to the National Executive Director of GNACOPS, Enoch Kwesi Gyetuah, in his speech at the launch indicated that Ghana will see better changes in its educational phase should Pre-Act be embraced and practiced.

He added that the new basic curriculum introduced by the current government has taken away statistics used by private school authorities to verify the level of academic performance in their schools, which at the end require larger number of students; therefore they believe this current application will again raise the standards they had expected.

The launching of the PreAct in Accra drew representatives from GNACOPS, GES, and students from private schools who graced the occasion with stage performances.
