"We Will Blame Security If ... " - NPP

The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Moctar Bamba, has charged the national security to ensure that court proceedings of Nana Darkwah prevail in peace. Alhaji Bamba has levelled blame at security officials for refusing to arrest persons involved in the clash between supporters of NDC and NPP during the court hearing of the young NPP activists case. According to him, "if the police had arrested one or two persons, it would have sent a word of caution to the other supporters." The security has to take over, he stated. Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FMs Kokrokoo programme, he said the security should ensure that they escort and protect Nana Darkwa during his appearances at the court. He added that "should anything happen to Nana Darkwa, the security will be blamed for such a thing." However, he told Peace FM that both parties involved should allow the court to adjudicate the matter instead of resorting to inflicting wounds on one another. What happened is really bad, he said. Supporters of NDC and NPP clashed for the second time running at the Cocoa Affairs court on Monday during the appearance of Nana Darkwah at the court. Nana Darkwah had alleged on an Accra based radio station, Top Radio a couple of weeks ago that ex-President Rawlings deliberately set his Ridge House ablaze.
