The proposed formula for the distribution of the GETFund for 2010 is expected to be laid before Parliament today for the consideration of the Committee of the Whole of the House. According to the Business Statement of the House for the week, signed by the Majority Chief Whip, Mr Gershon K.B. Gbediame, the Committee of the Whole is also expected to consider that today. During the week, five ministers are also expected in the House to answer a total of 34 questions from the floor. Key among the questions is one to be posed by the MP for Kade, Mr Ofosu Asamoah, to the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning on how much money was really released to the GETFund form January 2007 to September 2009. The Minister is also billed to respond to a question to be posed by the MP for Kwadaso, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, on when the government intends to implement the four-year Coffee Rehabilitation Project, which was submitted to the ministry by COCOBOD, following the ratification of the International Coffee Agreement. Mr Robert Sarfo-Mensah, MP for Asunafo North, is also expected to ask the minister what is causing the delay in the implementation of the new pension scheme. MP FOR Agona East, Mr John Agyemang, is billed to ask the Finance Minister how the new price for a tone of cocoa for the 2009/10 cocoa season was arrived at. Mr Charles S. Hodogbey, MP for North Tongu, is also billed to ask the minister what measures are being put in place to protect depositors in the country in the wake of the increasing establishment of banks and other financial institutions. Mr Stephen Yakubu will ask the Minister of the Interior what relief items were distributed to the affected people of Binduri during the recent floods and how the relief items were distributed. The MP for Asunafo South, Mr George Boakye, will also ask the Interior Minister what pragmatic steps the ministry is taking to ensure the security of teenage girls engaged as female head porters �kayayee� on the streets of Accra. The MP for Ablekuma North, Mr Justice Joe Appiah, is expected to ask the Interior Minister what measures the ministry would take to ensure that both the motorbike rider and the pillion rider use crash helmets when traveling. The MP for Salaga is billed to ask the Minister of Transport what the ministry is doing to ensure urgent replacement of the broken down ferry, which is the only means of transport between Yeji and Makango.
