Women's Wing Of NPP Salute Mothers In Ghana

The women's wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have expressed their warmest appreciation to all mothers and women who have played the role of a mother to children who are not their biological children and inspiring them from birth through adulthood.

According to them, "God has given mothers the special gift of intuition which gives her a strong sense of what is right for her children, what they are good at, how they may excel in the future, what gifts and abilities she needs to make sure her children are developed in their lives as God intended".

Speaking to the GNA in separate interviews, Madam Abena Kwallah, Western Regional Women’s Organizer of the NPP opined that "mothers have often shaped our world from the cradle by rocking, nurturing and instructing children who grow up to make life-changing and history-making accomplishments".

She contended that for every preacher, president, volunteer worker, employee, fashionista, technician, community worker, doctor, caregiver, among others there is a mother behind them who fostered them to reach their full potentials.

She indicated that the contribution of a mother in the lives of her children was immense and though a single day was never going to be enough to thank her for the love and commitment, it was essential to acknowledge the same and make them feel special.

For her part, Mrs. Barbara Boafo, NPP-USA Women’s Organizer emphasized that mothers have always made a difference and would continue to do so hence, Mother’s Day should be a time to honor mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers for their contribution to family and society.

“Mothers play several roles that generally shape the life of a child to become a contributing member of the society. Mothers are timeless teachers in the classroom of life. Mothers teach us to pray. Mothers teach us to live out our legacy”, she noted.

She maintained that "women especially, mothers were the most influential educators in that they bequeath to us timeless wisdom, a legacy so precious and valuable and added that a mother understands what a child does not say, and can hear sentences in the silences of their children".

Madam Boafo stated that "mothers teach their children to have confidence and belief in themselves since they know from experience how important it is for people to believe in themselves".
