Super Falcons Include Seven Foreign-based Player To Play Ghana U20

Reigning African footballer of the year Pepertua Nkwocha has been included in the Super Falcons squad that will face Ghana in a decisive All Africa Games qualifier in Accra on Sunday. The Denmark-bases striker is one of seven foreign-based players called up to beef up the Falcons for the return leg. They include Faith Ikidi, Rita Chikwelu, Helen Ukaonu, Sarah Michael, Ulunma Jerome and Ogonna. Only one foreign based player-Onome Ebi, of Turkish top flight outfit, Duvevenciler Kulubur Lisesispur-played in the first leg which ended in a 1-1 draw, a forth night ago in Abuja. Nigeria coach Eucharia Uche is optimistic as elimination will be the first time the countrys womens team have failed to qualify for the finals of a major tournament. It wont happen because we are prepared, Uche said. The problems we had in the first leg been as a result of the fact that the European clubs failed to release our top players because the game was not played on a Fifa free day. That is not the case this time and I am sure we will get the result we crave, she said.
