NPP Primaries: EC Official In Tema West Fired

Information available to Peacefmonline.com indicates that an official of the Electoral Commission has been fired for certifying results in the NPP primaries in the Tema West constituency.

According to EC Director in the Tema West district, John Kwame Amoah, they gave their officials specific instructions not to count the results before the 1 pm deadline and so do not understand why it was flouted.

"The EC official who is in charge of the Adjei Kojo electorala area (name not disclosed) was one of the personnel recruited specifically for this exercise," Nana Yaw Kesse confirmed on Peace FM, stating that he has been fired.

Background

A report filed by Peace FM's Tema correspondent, Ohene Amponsah indicated that voting has ended in one of the centres in Tema West, Adjei Kojo electoral area and counting has already taken place.

He added that the EC official has stamped to certify the results making it official.
