Look At The Bigger Picture, Iron All Differences – Patriotic Gents To NPP
ASSEVERATION TO THE MESSAGE OF UNITY ARTICULATED BY H.E NANA ADDO DANKWA AKUFO-ADDO AT THE JUST ENDED ACCLAMATION OF HIS CANDIDATURE AS THE NPP FLAG-BEARER
The Patriotic Gents wishes to re-echo its message of unity as a rejoinder to that of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana and the Flag-bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
It can be recalled that on the 19th of June, 2020, the Patriotic Gents launched the “WE ARE ONE CAMPAIGN”, which seeks to rally our party stalwarts together to foster unity amongst the rank and file of our Party through to the grassroots. Notable amongst these, is the just ended NPP primaries which has divided opponents and their followers into factions against each other. We should understand that the just ended competition to elect Parliamentary Candidates is just an internal one, and not the real enemy we are fighting. The real enemy is out there on a u-turn spree, encouraging and mobilising its members to go and register come Tuesday when the EC kicks off the new voter register exercise.
This is what the Patriotic Gents’ “WE ARE ONE CAMPAIGN” seeks to advocate for, with the intention of seeing us come together as a united front to succeed in fighting the common enemy (NDC), who is worse than the Coronavirus pandemic. This is why we need to fuse ourselves together, put on all our PPEs and devise a chemical that will demystify them in the December polls. The purpose of this rejoinder is to promote what the President and Flag-bearer of our great Party said on Saturday 27th June, 2020 at Alisa Hotel, that all Aspirants who contested in the just ended NPP primaries should put all their differences away and come together as a family to fight the common enemy ahead of us.
We would also recall in his address on Saturday 27th, June 2020 at Alisa hotel, what the former President of the Republic John Agyekum Kufuor had to say, they [Akufo-Addo-Bawumia] articulate the vision of our [NPP] tradition so ably and so down to earth in a way that the grassroots appreciate as well as the high browed.”
He noted that it was very difficult for political leadership to combine such vision and articulation as the two of them do, “Their relationship tends to be like the well-known catholic marriage, a marriage that lasts into decades, they come to be like family. We just heard the Vice President, the way he summarized the philosophy, the vision for sustainable inclusive development that our nation aspires for, inclusive, social interventions. People ask whether this party is leftist or socialist, we are not but I tell you, we respect capitalism with a conscience.”
He continued and said, “Capitalism that is human and this is why we fix the safety nets below which we do not allow any human to fall under and that is the leadership we have today. President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, this is what the two of them articulate so competently and I believe within just a short period of three and half years, they showed this vision, they’ve displayed strategy."
Subsequently, it’s obvious what the Former President seeks to communicate, and taking cue from both the President and his Vice, for their combined commitments to unity and fortitude, they wouldn’t have come this far. This is an excellent display of leadership from our fore-bearers and it is worthy of emulation by members of our great party.
The Patriot Gents once again admonishes Members of the Dankwa-Busia-Dombo tradition to look at the bigger picture, iron all differences amongst our Commoners and together forge ahead to deliver another resounding victory for our great Party come December 7th, 2020.
