National Women's Organizer for the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw has described Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a “chew-and-pour” Economist who is knowledgeable in only economic theory and poor in practicals.

The former Member of Parliament for Tano South Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region explained that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is only able to read out the theory he has learned about the economy to Ghanaians but practically cannot use it to effect any changes in the lives of Ghanaians.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, she wondered where Dr. Bawumia learned his economics.

She, however, blamed the ruling NPP for disgracing Dr. Bawumia as they raised him above his capabilities in the transformation of the economy, stressing why the government has gone for a huge supporting team to complement the Vice Presidentt.

To her, it does not surprise her to see that Dr. Bawumia is trying to find solace in Information Technology (IT) as he has now become an IT specialist launching various projects and abandoning the management of the economy.

According to the former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, the Vice President Dr. Bawumia was not the yardstick for choosing Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as the Running Mate to John Dramani Mahama. 

She, therefore, pleaded with the NPP government not to make that kind of comparison between Professor Opoku-Agyemang and Dr Bawumia as their argument is in vain.

She added that the NPP will not determine the criteria for the NDC to select its Vice President.
