LPG To Pick A Female Running Mate On July 21

Peacefmonline.com can confirm that the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) will pick a female as Running Mate for its Presidential Candidate on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Marriot Hotel in Accra.

A source close to the party said the LPG is not following the footsteps of the largest opposition NDC which has appointed Madam Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang a University Professor in English as its Running Mate.

According to the LPG, their choice to pick a female Running Mate is a constitutional mandate of their party.

“We are only going by our party’s constitution which stipulates that when a male is elected as the Presidential candidate, the Running Mate automatically must be a female,” the source indicated.

Some extracts from the LPG’s manifesto indicate that Ghanaian children below the age of 18 years will receive a monthly GHc200 financial benefit, while twins will however be given GHc300 stipend each month.

There will also be unemployment benefits for Ghanaians.

The party also plans to establish the world’s biggest cocoa processing factory in the country.

The party’s Presidential aspirant, Mr. Percival Kofi Akpaloo, sounded upbeat that, “it’s high time Ghana stopped the exportation of raw cocoa beans so the value of golden pod can be maximized.”
