Africa's Number Of Coronavirus Cases Across Continent Exceeds 750,000

As of July 22, confirmed COVID-19 case total from 55 African countries has reached 750,451.

Reported deaths in Africa have reached 15,738 and recoveries 409,681.

South Africa has the most reported cases – 381,798, with deaths numbering 5,368. Other most-affected countries include Egypt (89,708 cases), Nigeria (37,801), Algeria (24,278), and Ghana (28,989).

The numbers are compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University (world map) using statistics from the World Health Organization and other international institutions as well as national and regional public health departments.
