Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, however, insisted that security agencies must work to ensure that the laws of the land are enforced devoid of any biases.

“We believe that we have institutions in this country that have been established to take care of such situations. So I believe we must trust in that apparatus and if that apparatus is seen to be weak and not doing what it is supposed to do then we must call them to task and ask them to do what they have to do and not take the law into our own hands. I don’t think that is a right call at this time,” he said.

The Council further called for the arrest and prosecution of persons found to be guilty of perpetrating violence in the ongoing voter’s registration exercise.
