More Women Accused Of Witchcraft In Kasaba - Reports Indicate

Reports reaching Peacefmonline.com indicate that the 90-year-old Madam Akua Dente who was lynched over witchcraft accusations wasn’t the only woman accused of being a witch in the Kasaba community and its environs.

According to UTV's Northern Regional reporter, Alhassan Washid, the 90-year-old woman was among a group of old women said to be impeding the progress of the community.

Akua was buried on Saturday after a mob lynched her on suspicion of witchcraft.

In a viral video, a group of women were seen mercilessly beating the elderly woman after a high priestess named Fatima Filina claimed she was a witch.

Other members of the community were also seen looking unconcerned while the woman was being lynched.

Her death sparked controversies with civil society and Human Right groups condemning the act.

Washid revealed that the high priestess who led the lynching parade also had a tall list of old women she claims are witches and was working to penalize them.

The reporter further disclosed on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' that the Chief of the town, Seidu Yahaya and the Assembly man have been invited by the Savannah Regional Police Command to assist in the investigations.
