Nkrankwata Shooting: Leave NPP Out! - Nana B To Mahama

Henry Nana Boakye, NPP National Youth Organizer, has slammed former President and NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama over his comments on the shooting incident that occurred at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) clashed during EC's mop-up exercise over the weekend resulting in the death of one person.

Two other people sustained gunshot wounds while a vehicle and motorbike were also burnt down.

Former President John Mahama accused ruling NPP thugs to have orchestrated the violent clash.

''It is crystal clear now for all to see that armed NPP thugs are running rampage everywhere and this portends a clear and present danger to our democracy.

“Violence must never be an option in our democracy. Unfortunately, it is increasingly clear that having nurtured and democratized violence by his all “die be die” mantra, Nana Akufo-Addo has lost control of his own party, just as he has lost control of many sectors of the economy in Ghana. In January 2021, a new administration under my leadership will fix our economy and restore justice and peace to our beloved Ghana,"
he said.

He, however, condemned the act and sent his condolences to the bereaved family saying, "I join the rest of our well-meaning compatriots to mourn the loss of the NPP activist who was killed by gunshots discharged by armed thugs of his own party".

Reacting to the former President's attribution of the incident to the NPP, Nana Boakye, popularly called Nana B asked Mr. Mahama not to usurp the role of the Police.

According to him, it is unfortunate for Mr. Mahama to accuse the NPP of being behind the clash or using thugs to cause violence at the location.

Nana B found the comments very distasteful and asked him to allow the Police to do their job.

"It's not proper and I believe our former President should know that the Police are investigating the matter," he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo'.
