NPP's Manifesto Launch Nothing But Just An Affluent Program To Show Off Power - PPP Chairman

PPP National Chairman, Nana Ofori Owusu says the ruling New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2020 Manifesto Launch was just a show of power.

The NPP launched their manifesto in Cape Coast on Saturday, August 23, 2020.

During the event, the party outlined some promises that the Akufo-Addo administration has fulfilled since coming to power.

They noted that the government embarked on a total of 17,309 infrastructure projects and has completed 8,746 of them with 8,563 ongoing projects as well as roll out its free SHS policy and other 2016 campaign promises.

This, according to the party, represent 78 percent of fulfilled promises by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

If the President is re-elected in this year's elections, he has promised to do more.

Snippets of the manifesto for the next four years include the government assuring all tertiary students will get to acquire a student loan without a guarantor, accelerating the Planting for Food and Jobs and the greenhouse projects, setting up a remote sensing technology to prevent ‘people from stealing power’, to construct SHSs in all 16 regions in Ghana and provide free wifi in all Senior High Schools and tertiary institutions in Ghana, to initiate GHC100 million seed money for a National Rental Assistance Scheme and establish a new harbour and airport at Cape Coast in the Central Region among other lofty promises.

But, according to the PPP National Chairman, all that the NPP did on Saturday was just organizing an affluent program to show off power.

"It was a magnificent showing of power. And if you looked at the assortment of 4x4 vehicles parked at the parking lot, you could know that this is a very affluent program," he told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
