I Still Have NPP Blood In Me . . . - UFP Leader

The Leader and Founder of United Front Party, Nana Agyenim Boateng popularly known as Gyataba has disclosed that he still has NPP blood running through his veins despite breaking away to form his own political party.

The former Regional Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party who seems not too happy with developments in the Ashanti region has asked the NPP government to enumerate its infrastructural achievement in the region.

Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' program, he explained that the New Patriotic Party has taken the people of Ashanti region for granted because they believe that they will vote for them no matter what.

But he believes that shouldn't be the case. He said all developmental projects seen in the region were initiated by the erstwhile Mahama administration.

In the 2016 presidential election, the NPP had 1,642,288 votes only in the Ashanti region which represented 75.99%, a vote that brought President Akufo-Addo to power with the National Democratic Congress managing a low 503,368 votes representing 23.29%.

But since 1992, the NDC has executed more developmental projects in the Ashanti region than the NPP but still receive fewer votes from the region.

Cataloging among others some forty-four developmental projects executed by the NDC under John Dramani Mahama including the Kumasi Kejetia market, Tafo Market, Asawase Market, Atonsu Market, Sewua Hospital, the CYA president said the NPP has over the years been deceiving the Ashantis.

The NPP led by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo must account to Asanteman what they have done in the region since it assumed office barely four years ago. Though I have my own political party now, I still have some NPP in me and am certainly not happy about what is going on in the region.

"The New Patriotic Party should show some appreciation to the people of the Ashanti region and render accounts for the votes they have enjoyed from their world bank," he added.
