Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has reassured that the income from the Agyapa Mineral Royalty Limited arrangement will be used in four main areas; health, education, road infrastructure, and housing.

Briefing the media after stakeholder’s engagement with the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta on how government intend to use portions of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) Act 2018 as amended, Mr. Enam Hadzide said it is government's desire to provide clarity.

He added that the engagement with the stakeholders was borne out of the government yearning to make available information so as to disabuse the minds of anybody who may have been misled to suspect wrongdoings in the Agyapa Royalties deal.

He stressed that the government intends to carry the country along with it as it embarks on this exciting and novel journey of adding value to the natural resources in keeping the “Ghana Beyond Aid” agenda.

“This engagement was borne out of the government desire to provide clarity and information so as to disabuse the minds of anybody who may have been misled to suspect wrongdoings and also carry the country along with it as it embarks on this exciting and novel journey of adding value to our natural resources in keeping the Ghana Beyond Aid Agenda,” he indicated.

The Deputy Information Minister again said the government will continue to engage and provide clarity to anyone and institutions or organizations that may so desire.

He posited that even as the government engages people and institutions to clarify the Agyapa Royalties deal, the Akufo-Addo government shall continue to work in the best interest of the Ghanaian people; thus, the government will “use our nation's resource to leverage our assets for tomorrow”.
